Aluminium Windows Rain and Water Tips

Nowadays, more and more families install aluminum alloy doors and windows, but some windows have water leakage and water inflow problems with the passage of use time, and the water stains left on the wall greatly affect the appearance, today, follow the famous European doors and windows editor to see the causes and prevention methods of water seepage between doors and windows, and use doors and windows easily and without worry.

After the doors and windows are installed, you can pass the rain simulation test and conduct rain inspection on the doors and windows outside the aluminium alloy door window. The time for watering is not less than 6 hours, so as to check the hidden danger of wall leakage. In the rain, pay attention to the pressure of simulated rainwater is strong enough and meets the test requirements. It is suitable to choose materials with good rigidity, such as PPR pipe, to make water pipes and spray tube pieces, and to make effective fixing and ensure that the spray tube is not deformed.

After the water leakage inspection, for the problem windows that have been found to have water leakage, it is necessary to make marks, carefully identify the cause of the leakage, make detailed written records, and further arrange rectification and review. After summary and analysis, the seepage of aluminum alloy doors and windows should be prevented and treated from the following dimensions:

1. The bottom of the peripheral infilled wall is not made of concrete reverse masonry or built with triple layer leather solid bricks;

Preventive measures: Triple Layer leather solid bricks are set at the bottom of the wall at the outer window.

2. The exterior wall scaffold eye and steel I-beam reserved hole are blocked rough and not standard;

Preventive measures: use cement mortar to block tensile rod parts of the outer window and then apply JS waterproof coating, or use fine stone expansion concrete to block the reserved holes and feet and eyes of the outer wall.

3. The upper part of the window sill is not pressed with 6cm concrete, but built with solid small brick;

Preventive measures: 60mm thick concrete is poured on the outer window.

4. Aluminum alloy door and window frame both sides are 150mm high and the bottom frame is not used cement mortar/concrete plug joint. There are wooden wedge, small bricks and Styrofoam for fixing at the bottom of the window frame; 150mm high plug joints on both sides are unqualified; The closing between the window frame and the wall is not in place, rough, and the gap is large;

Preventive measures: the cement mortar between aluminum window frame and the wall is plugged in place and closed into the eye.

5. The glue around the window is not in place, and the sealant is rough and uneven, peeling;

Preventive measures: glue around aluminum window frame is compact, straight and beautiful.

6. There is no slope finding and no waterproof layer for the single-layer air conditioner wind shield on the south side; There is water accumulation in the double-layer board of the air conditioner, no slope finding, and no drainage hole is made at the bottom of the shutter;

Preventive measures: single-layer air conditioner wind shield waterproof construction to find the slope in place, no water. After making waterproof, make mortar to find slope protective layer.

Solution to window leakage:

1. Check the joint between the window and the wall, remove the original aging or damaged sealing material, and then handle the base layer clean, smooth and straight. Fill the large gap between the window and the wall with Styrofoam, and the inside, outside, window frame and Casement layering must be sealed with glue.

2. For balconies with serious leakage, waterproof should be redone, especially the waterproof of the top surface and wall surface. You can also add a water barrier above the wall to reduce the filler course Impact of rainwater on the window and wall. Good sealing materials should be selected during maintenance, and all leakage points should be carefully blocked.

3. In order to avoid this situation, try to choose aluminium windows with strong anti-aging ability of sealant strip, and there is no obvious gap in the splicing process.

Causes of window leakage:

1. The window is loose: the looseness between the window and the frame causes water leakage. After the window is used for a long time, a gap may occur between the window and the wall, generally, it is also caused by the unqualified quality of windows, and windows with poor quality are easily deformed, thus causing the mortar at the edge of the window frame to crack and fall off.

2. Window installation is not standard: the outdoor window sill of the window needs to have a gentle slope so that rainwater can flow out quickly. Sill plate the plastering layer does not have a smooth slope, or the slope is facing inward, sill plate cracking and other problems will cause window leakage.

3. Water accumulation and leakage caused by poor drainage hole of window groove:

Look at the window slot, especially sliding window. Under normal circumstances, the window slot has drainage holes and cannot be blocked. Otherwise, the window slot may be quickly filled with water, if there is too much water flow, it may spread indoors. Some windows do not even have drainage holes.

4. The waterproof layer around the window wall may be damaged:

Generally, it often appears in relatively old houses or windows have been demolished and replaced before. Once the waterproof layer is damaged, it cannot play the role of waterproof. If the rainfall is relatively large in rainy days, then the family may suffer.
