Maximum Allowable Size of Fireproof Glass

Fireproof glass production specifications: 6mm,8mm,10mm,12mm,15mm,19mm

Fire Resistance: Under the flame of 1000℃, it can be kept for 90-180 minutes without cracking, that is, 1.5-3 hours.

Production size range: maximum size 2400mm × 5000mm. Minimum size 200mm × 300mm

As a new building fire protection product, fireproof glass is adopted by more and more buildings. What is the maximum size of fireproof glass? In fact, there are no special specifications and standards for the design inspection of such products.
Fire-proof glass can be processed and customized according to different needs of customers (generally regular size is: 5mm, 6mm, 8mm, 10mm, 12mm, 15mm, 19mm); It can also be customized according to design requirements, combined with other glass to make interlayer with fire resistance (generally regular size: 5 0.76 5 fireproof laminated glass, 5 1.14 5 fireproof laminated glass, 6 0.76 6 Fireproof laminated glass, 6 1.14 6 Fireproof laminated glass... or hollow glass (generally regular size: 5 6A 5 fireproof hollow glass, 5 9A 5 fireproof hollow glass).
For example, the small knowledge of fireproof glass is that the national standard does not stipulate the size of the door, but only requires the fire resistance of the door. In general, the fire door drawings are marked with FM0615, FM0618, FM1018, FM1218, FM0921, FM1021, FM1221, FM1521, FM1821, FM2121 and so on, as long as the height is not more than 2100mm, then, these specifications and sizes are standard. However, the test report is generally marked as large size.
For example, FM1024 on the test report, so that the specification of FM1021 can also use this test report; FM1524 on the test report, so that the specification of FM1321, FM1421 and FM1521 can also use this test report; FM1824 on the test report, so that the specifications of FM1521 and FM1821 can also use this test report; FM2424 on the test report, so that the specifications of FM2121 and FM2122 can also use this test report; as far as possible, the closer the size is, the better. Just remember one: the specification and size of the inspection report must not be smaller than the size of the door used on site.
I think we should pay attention to the following three aspects of fire glass standards when designing:
1. The application of fire-proof glass to the design of curtain wall and partition is not simply to change the non-fire-resistant materials used in curtain wall or partition to refractory materials, not to replace ordinary glass with fireproof glass, everything will be fine, but to consider it as a fireproof system.
2. The fire resistance rating that can be achieved by fire-proof glass curtain wall and partition needs to be determined only by comprehensively considering the fire resistance rating of various factors of the whole system. Subjective speculation may lead to mistakes, if necessary, test should be done to determine.
3. When designing and selecting fireproof glass, attention should be paid to the corresponding relationship between the size of the glass plate and the fire resistance grade.
