previously, Russian President Putin instructed the government to completely ban the export of unprocessed needles and precious deciduous species wood from Russia from January 1, 2022. Experts pointed out that the issue of the necessity of the ban had already been discussed in Russia.

Novikova explained: "This measure is actually correct. Until recently, as a natural raw material for producing finished products, Russia also exported timber to other countries. Therefore, within the framework of the global value chain, Russia has determined its role as a supplier of the lowest value-added resources."
