Regular Method of Door and Window Grounding


1. First of all, high-rise buildings must be buildings with reinforced concrete structures and steel structures, and their metal objects should be fully used as part of lightning protection devices to connect them as whole as possible. Reinforced concrete components and steel frames should be connected with each other, and the components must be connected into electrical passages to make the whole building under equal pressure.

2. Therefore, designers of metal curtain walls and aluminum alloy doors and windows should fully understand the lightning protection devices of buildings and the lightning protection device lead-out lines of curtain walls and doors and windows openings, and then determine a reasonable, economical and safe lightning protection design scheme for curtain walls and doors and windows.

3. Metal curtain wall, aluminium alloy door and window frame and other large metal objects, if the distance from the ground is equal to grounder radius and above, should be connected with lightning protection device, which is the first preventive measure to prevent side attack. (The so-called grounder radius is a sphere with Hr as the radius rolling along the part that needs to prevent direct lightning. When the sphere only touches the lightning receiver, or only touch the lightning receiver and the ground without touching the part that needs to be protected, the part will be protected by the lightning receiver).

4. The connecting conductor of the metal curtain wall must be laid between the metal column of the metal curtain wall and the embedded parts connecting the ring beam or column reinforcement, so that the metal curtain wall and the lightning protection device of the whole building can be connected into an electrical passage. If no embedded parts are buried during construction and expansion bolts are used to fix the installation anchor board of metal curtain wall, round steel with a diameter of not less than 8mm or 4 × 12 flat steel must be used first, connect each anchor board of each layer in series to form its own lightning protection system. Finally, it is reliably connected with the lightning protection system of the main structure. The connection spacing is as follows: Lightning conduction grid size: the second type of lightning protection buildings must be ≤10x10 or 12X8 (meters), and the third type of lightning protection buildings must be ≤20x20 or 24X16 (meters).

5. The laying of connecting conductor of aluminum alloy doors and windows must be carried out before the construction of wall decoration layer or plastering layer after the positioning of aluminum alloy door and window frame. The connecting conductor should adopt steel with a cross section of not less than 100 mm², fasten the window frame with rivets or screws. Connecting conductor outlet should be round steel with diameter of not less than 8mm or 4 × 12 flat steel. When connecting conductor outlet and lightning protection device outlet line are lap welded, the lap length must be ≥ 50mm, full of weld.

6. Finally, equipotential is a very important measure to reduce the danger of fire, explosion and life in the space where lightning protection is needed. Equipotential is to connect lightning protection devices, metal frames of buildings, metal devices, external conductors, electrical and telecommunication devices in the space where lightning protection is needed by connecting wires or overvoltage protectors.
